Electric Medium Duty Work Trucks
At ZMD Motors, we plan to develop and sell all-electric, zero-
emission medium duty work trucks. We will provide reliable and efficient vehicles to commercial customers that value fitness of tools for the job…chassis that receive the vocational bodies popular for job sites today.
Integration of upfitter bodies and subsystems will be enhanced with our truck, not expected to be re-engineered to fit. What form our initial class 4-6 truck takes is quickly evolving. Stay tuned and feel free to connect with us below!

Based in the heart of Detroit at Newlab/Michigan Central, ZMD
Motors will create solutions from the best this region has to offer. We will focus on the right product specifications and supply chain then partner with experts in vehicle manufacturing and quality to build the world-class ZEV truck.
In the field, our distribution strategy will enable fast support and parts close to customer fleets with trained experts to service these capable vehicles. Without the complexity of engines, transmissions and their related systems, these trucks will have unprecedented uptime for customer fleets.
About ZMD Motors
Founded On Experience
Our founding leadership and board bring decades of vehicle product development experience to launch the venture. In our seed stage of development, ZMD is raising initial funds and creating industry relationships to turn its vision into reality. Understanding the key requirements of commercial fleets is much different than delivering personal-use retail EV product to the market. Unlike ZMD, most offerings in electrification of commercial trucks are either light duty pickups with base/fleet trim packages or for last-mile delivery applications such as with vans and box trucks. ZMD Motors was founded in 2025 with a laser focus on the class 4-6 chassis-cab work truck, typically restricted to a specific locality and with daily dispatch from servicing depots.
